Nostalgia Exhibit

About the Exhibit

We hold pieces of the past that are activated by what we see, hear, and taste, and often show up in our dreams. The places you have been, the objects you held, the people you grew up with, and your emotional responses are all within your present self. How are connections to your past revealed in the art you create today?  Artists, designers and writers are invited to submit up to three entries for consideration in this multimedia exhibition that will be presented in the Memorial Union Art Gallery January 27 - March 10, 2022.

Eligibility

This exhibit is open to Iowa State University students of any major, and each person may submit up to 3 works for consideration in the following categories:
FOR ART: Artwork must be original and not previously displayed in past Memorial Union exhibits. A short statement showing how each entry relates to the theme of the show is required, however the juror will be choosing works by their artistic merit alone. Statements will be displayed on the art label for pieces accepted into the show.
FOR WRITING: The juror should be able to see how the poem relates to the theme so no additional statement is necessary.
FOR APPAREL DESIGN: Garments must be original and not previously displayed in past Memorial Union exhibits. A short statement showing how each entry relates to the theme of the show is required, however the juror will be choosing works by their design merit alone. Statements will be displayed on the art label for pieces accepted into the show. Dress forms must be provided by the artist. If you don't have access to one contact us and we will try to assist in securing one for the exhibit.
